Wild West Wagyu was founded in 2020 with a bold vision: to elevate the Wagyu experience.
Wild West Wagyu is proud to have the veterinary expertise of Dr Matthew Carrick, a beef cattle specialist with over 24 years of experience.
Dr Carrick brings extensive knowledge in MOET, AI, and all aspects of herd performance and management. His skills in advanced reproductive technologies, combined with a data-driven approach to decision-making, make him an invaluable advisor and the technical overseer of our program. Our Board of Directors brings extensive expertise in research, reproduction, and business leadership, while our dedicated team has a proven record across reproduction, data management, and laboratory operations.
At Wild West Wagyu, we believe in pushing the boundaries of what’s possible. By leveraging innovations like MOET alongside rigorous performance monitoring, we strive to achieve exceptional results in both productivity and genetic excellence. Guided by Dr Carrick’s expertise and our commitment to ethical, sustainable practices, our goal is to produce some of the finest Wagyu genetics available.
This is more than a breeding program—it’s a pursuit of excellence, and we invite you to be part of the journey.
Nestled in the heart of Western Australia, our farm provides the ideal environment for our Wagyu to thrive
We believe in a holistic approach, combining modern facilities with sustainable practices.
At Wild West Wagyu, meticulous animal management is at the heart of everything we do. Our cattle graze under a carefully planned rotational system, ensuring fresh, nutrient-rich pasture is available throughout the reproductive season. This approach supports animals on a rising plane of nutrition, driving optimal reproductive performance and overall health.
As part of our research and management program, cattle are maintained in consistent cohorts, receiving the same feed under controlled environmental conditions to ensure reliable results. Animals are weighed regularly to monitor progress, with targeted supplemental feeding provided when necessary to maintain ideal condition.
Fresh, clean water is always available, low-stress handling is a non-negotiable, and every feeding strategy is designed to meet both the nutritional needs of the animal and the production goals of the enterprise. At Wild West Wagyu, every detail is managed with precision—because excellence in the paddock is the foundation of excellence on the plate.
